Cocktail x10 freedb update

Any ideas, anyone? Another issue I have is that although I've loaded the freeDB database from CD, and have done an update to it from the Cocktail website, Whenever I try and access the freeeDB database, the X10 tells me it can't find it? Thanks in advance It's better to use the net to get the tag data from the net, just connect the X10 to your network and it will automatically get the correct info for you, this will also save a little space on the HDD, the net with have newer info and tends to be more reliable than the disc.

As for the first issue, what format are the files and are you copying them to musicDB in the browser box? Hagar63 Standard Member. A FW update is imminent so this might be included. If it isn't I'll make sure it gets addressed in the next FW update.

Well having used the X10 for a week or so I am very pleased. Updated to the latest software no problems. I still have a few questions!!

When backing up to an external hard drive, the X10 obviously took a long time. No problem as just left on overnight. Out of interest I had a look at the backup DB via my pc.

Any one else had this type of thing. Also having noticed this error I edited the offending tracks tag on the X10, so it now sat in the corrct albums folder CD1. But the track is also correctly in the proper CD1 album where it went after I re-tagged it. So from this I gues that the X10 doesn't remove any unused files on the DB backup? A suggestion for future FW? This is good, but after inserting the CD, alowing the X10 to read it, selecting on the screen 'rip' , the X10 brings up a list of the tracks, but you can not see the artist, year or gener..

If you then press the 'rip' button on the remote as a shortcut, the next screen asks if you have album art, before continuine straight into ripping. However if the tag is not fully correct then this would rip and tag wrongly. If using the menu button to select rip, then WAV or whatever format you wish , you then get the screen with the further info ie year, artist gener.

This can be edited if it is incorrect, which often there are errors. So my point is the shortcut rip button is a bit useless as the tags may be wrong. Also having the album art option set in the settings to what ever you want, so in my case I am not using art so i have no need to see the screen asking about it. Defeats the point of the rip button on the remote?? Sorry a bit long winded!!!

I could play music on the X10 from the - shared - 'my music' files on my PC, download artwork from the internet to the X10 and rip CDs onto the X10's hard drive. However after a few minutes the X10 starts to - apparently randomly and with no input from me - flicking through various screens usually finishing up on the alarm set screen.

Sometimes the X10 will then switch itself off. This fault only occurs when the X10 is connected to the network and appears to function with no problems when the network connection is unplugged. After exchanging several e-mails with Cocktail UK and trying their suggestions for fixing the problem, I was eventually advised "Could be a flash problem or an issue with the hardware.

I'm hoping to buy an X10 at some point in the near future, catch up with modernity and go digital. It might be hard work to get to grips with at first but it sounds like it's just what I need. At least there seems to be a lot of good advice and support around, especially on here. Firstly, does anyone know how the X10 is at driving Wharfedale Diamond 9. Big Chief Onion said:. Thanks Hamish. Would I be better off sticking with the Cap 10s or can you recommend any 6ohm speakers in that sort of price range that would match the X10 nicely?

IMHO the variance in 6 or 8 ohm is nothing to worry about, you'll soon hear the clipping if you over stress the amp. The 9. Last edited: Mar 23, Thanks amcluesent. How about the Polk TSis? They're 8ohms. I've tried 6ohm speakers in the back of the cocktails and they dont work I didnt spot they were 6ohm until I started diagnosing why they wouldnt work. I first loaded all my cds onto the X10 in WAV format, and uploaded the art work from Amazon using a memory stick.

I then put some of the albums and some album tracks into a play list, and everything worked fine.
